Lib. and Alexandria have been working together for several years now. This time, Alexandria needed a company that would take care of everything: preliminary budget, architecture, design, engineering, construction and furniture, while taking care of all the new tenants that would gradually move into these new laboratories.

This project, commonly referred to as Block D, required demolishing approximately 30,000 square feet of former office space on two floors. The objective was to convert this wing of the 275 Armand-Frappier complex into several separate spaces, including a laboratory and office. In the end, five laboratories are occupied by three different companies, in addition to a cafeteria, bathrooms and meeting rooms available for all in the common areas.

The biggest challenge of the project, not to mention the procurement challenges and inflation, was to extensively modify the concrete structure to accommodate the new mechanical systems, the atrium and its two skylights.
